Overview

As an Environmental Technician you will play a crucial role in safeguarding the environment by helping to monitor, assess, and mitigate various environmental impacts.

Our Energy, Renewables & Environmental Services Group is currently looking for an Environmental Technician to join the ENERCON Team in our Oklahoma City, OK location/office.

Role & Responsibilities

ENERCON's Energy Group (EG) understands the requirements and regulations of federal environmental work and our teams of environmental services experts, support clients in any phase of a project from new facility siting through decommissioning. We have offices across the US, so we can deliver fast, responsive, and accurate services.

Here's an overview of your responsibilities in this role:

  • Perform environmental fieldwork, including soil and groundwater investigations. Work assignments may be task-oriented to support the project objectives and may involve functional leadership responsibilities to direct field crews during data collection or remediation.
  • Assisting with subsurface soil and groundwater investigations; complete geologic and geophysical studies; manage waste; assist in preparing technical reports in accordance with applicable federal, state and local regulations.
  • Internal (ENERCON) administration and training.
  • Maintain confidentiality related to property and client-sensitive information.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Engineering, Geography, Environmental Science, or Biology and 6 months of experience.
  • General knowledge on ODEQ and Oklahoma Corporation Commission programs. Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks concurrently with varying scopes of work and time constraints.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, scientific evaluation skills, and understanding of field and laboratory analytical analysis and results.
  • Must be able to travel, including overnight and multi-day stays.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time; work on unpaved surfaces, in outdoor environments, and in extreme weather conditions, including for multi-day field assignments.
  • Must be able to work productively with other staff, at all levels, in a team environment.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications / skills

  • Current 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification is preferred.

  • Completion of pre interview assessments.
  • College transcript submitted for anyone under 1 year of experience post-graduation.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings, ENERCON and client-specific background checks, and annual motor vehicle record (MVR) checks according to company and client policies.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
